We are a structural biology group based at the Biological and Chemical Research Centre (CNBCh) at the University of Warsaw. Our research focuses on understanding RNA metabolism in mitochondria, with particular emphasis on how proteins and RNAs coordinate essential cellular processes.
We combine biochemical, biophysical, and structural approaches to investigate mitochondrial pathways, including RNA processing, transport, and protein function.
Our primary structural tool is cryogenic electron microscopy (Cryo-EM), which allows us to determine the structures of molecular assemblies and capture their dynamic interactions at near-atomic resolution.
Our goal is to bridge structure and function by uncovering the molecular mechanisms that govern mitochondrial biology, providing insight into how these systems operate in healthy cells and how their dysfunction contributes to disease.
